Start by heading east to the end of the car park and go through the gate.

Follow the stony track and after passing through two gates proceed for approximately 100 yards until you see a stone post showing ‘West Lulworth 5 miles’ and a choice of paths.

Cross the stile and head diagonally past the lonely house on your right uphill towards a wooden gate in the top right corner of the field. You are now on the South West Coast Path. Below you is the landslip known as Burning Cliff.

Head now along the path to the coastguard cottages in the distance.

On reaching them you will see a stone sign offering an optional short detour to the right to visit White Nothe where more fabulous views towards Durdle Door open up.

Return to the main path. Soon the path starts to descend, turn left following the signs for Daggers Gate.

After approximately half a mile turn left inland following the signs leading you back to the South Down National Trust car park 1 and half miles away, keeping close to the fence on your right.
